Steve Harvey buys $15M new Atlanta mega-mansion for his family
|Steve Harvey comes after Madea. These obstacles are always amusing. According to TMZ, comedian-turned-talk-show-host and self-help author Harvey and his wife Marjorie purchased Tyler Perry’s Atlanta, Georgia, Buckhead mansion for $15 million.
Harvey and Perry’s content could establish a television network on its own. He is the presenter of “Showtime at the Apollo,” “Celebrity Family Feud,” and “Miss Universe.” Perry has programmes on BET, Netflix, OWN, and Nickelodeon, among others. Before achieving prominence as entertainers, they were both homeless and slept in their cars.
In 2016, Perry sold his 35,000-square-foot mansion for $17.5 million after nearly two years on the market with an outrageous asking price of $25 million. Despite the multibillion-dollar difference between the asking and selling prices, the residence was the most expensive real estate transaction in Atlanta.
Before perusing the home’s extensive list of features, take a deep breath. The setting includes 17 acres of manicured grounds, manicured gardens, a 70,000-gallon infinity-edged pool, an illuminated tennis court, a fully equipped fitness centre, and a distinct spa.
The opulent estate features a guesthouse, guardhouse, detached caretaker’s quarters, a sophisticated security system, and a backup generator capable of powering the entire estate. The French Provincial-styled main mansion features a theatre, an indoor pool, a wine vault, and a ballroom with a catering kitchen located underground.
David Turner, a fоrmer industrialist turned evangelist, repоrtedly purchased Perry and sоld Harvey. His business and prоperty purchase appear tо be absurd. “I went оnline and saw this hоuse, and I felt like Gоd tоld me, ‘This is yоur hоuse,’” he said. When he sоld the estate, Turner lоst $2.5 milliоn, excluding carrying cоsts, upgrades, and realtоr fees.
Harvey also owns a large home in Atlanta and a 6,500-square-foot, five-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom estate in Little Elm, Texas, both of which are listed for $1,100,000. Before purchasing the Perry residence, he and his family resided in a Beverly Park guard-gated community mansion in the mountains above Beverly Hills, California, which cost $100,000 per month.
