Nadya Suleman, a mother of fourteen, has now disclosed on Instagram that she is a grandma. The 49-year-old shared a photo on social media of her young grandchild’s small foot showing through a pink blanket, along with a caption.
“We are grateful to my son and my amazing daughter-in-law for this excellent present! That she is the newest member of our family is such a blessing! We sincerely adore you, little lady, and we can’t wait to watch you grow up! 8/30/24,” in her letter.
Nadya Suleman spoke with her fertility specialist frequently. When she became the first mother to give birth to octuplets—all of whom were viable—she attracted a lot of media attention.
After giving birth to the octuplets on January 26, 2009, Nadya Suleman created a persona that was not authentically her due to the overwhelming attention she received from the media.
In an October phone conversation, she admitted, “I was acting like a fake, a caricature, which is something I’m not, and I was doing it out of desperation and scarcity so I could provide for my family.” Nadya Suleman said in 2018 to The New York Times, “I’ve been hiding from the real world all my life.”
She added that she was in danger of falling into an abyss and that, in her role as “Octomom,” she had no healthy alternatives, so she did as she was ordered.
She clarified in the interview that the lesson was that pretending to be someone you’re not might lead to a difficult fall.
Currently, Nadya Suleman resides in Orange County, California, with her children and two cats, Mimi and Penelope, in a three-bedroom home.
She revealed on Instagram in 2021 that she was writing a book about her experiences, but no release date has been determined as of yet.
