At the age of 63, Madonnaās younger brother, Christopher Ciccone, has passed away. It is known that Christopher battled cancer in recent years. The singer wrote a touching post on Instagram about her strong bond with him.
In her profile, Madonna shared a series of photos featuring her brother, who was a designer, artist, director, and dancer. She revealed that Christopher had been passionate about dancing since childhood, and it became a shared form of self-expression for them.

āMy brother Christopher has died. He was the closest person to me for a long time. Itās hard to explain our connection, but it grew from the understanding that we were different, and society was going to make things difficult for us because we didnāt conform to the status quo. We took each otherās hands and danced through the madness of our childhood,ā Madonna began her post.

She referred to dance as a kind of superglue that kept them together. The artist also recalled how her ballet teacher created a safe space for her brother to be himselfāāa word that wasnāt spoken or even whispered where we lived.ā Madonna added that when she decided to move to New York to pursue her dancing career, her brother followed her.

āAnd once again, we took each otherās hands and danced through the madness of New York! We consumed art, music, and film like hungry animals; we were at the epicenter of all of it. We danced through the chaos of the AIDS epidemic. We attended funerals, we cried, and we went out dancing,ā the pop diva reminisced about those times.
Madonna concluded her post with, āIām glad heās no longer suffering. There will never be anyone like him. I know heās dancing somewhere.ā
