How ‘Boy Meets World’ Stars Have Transformed over the Years – Photos of Them All Grown Up
|Now in their 40s, the adored “Boy Meets World” cast members have seen their lives go in different paths; one of them has even started to drift apart from the others. Seeing how much they’ve evolved since that iconic ABC series during their adolescent years is astounding. Let’s see how they are currently doing.
From 1993 until 2000, the television series “Boy Meets World” depicted the journey of a young adolescent discovering his surroundings. He faced the highs and lows of growing up with his two siblings and devoted best friend by his side, making a lasting impression on a generation of viewers.
Following the conclusion of the play, the three major stars have genuinely experienced everything, from losing touch to walking down the aisle and even experiencing moments of dread. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to discover their past exploits and current appearance.
Ben Savage
Prior to becoming well-known for his role on “Boy Meets World,” the actor starred in a number of films and made-for-TV productions. His career didn’t really take off until he was cast in the series’ starring role as Cory Matthews.
Ben Savage (44) continued to focus on his studies despite the constraints of acting and earned a Political Science degree from Stanford University in 2004. He even worked as an intern in the summer of 2003 at the Pennsylvania office of U.S. Senator Arlen Specter.
Years later, in January 2023, he and Tessa Angermeier became engaged. In 2018, the couple announced their relationship on Instagram with a straightforward post.
Angermeier was seen showing off her diamond ring in the picture that they shared of themselves posing by a pond in Owensville, Indiana. In February 2023, a month later, the couple supposedly exchanged vows in Los Angeles, California.
Rider Strong
Best recognized for his appearances in “Boy Meets World,” “Kim Possible” (2002–2007), and “Star vs. the Forces of Evil” (2015–2019), he played the rebellious Shawn Hunter. Shawn was portrayed by the actor as the son of a dysfunctional household, consisting of an alcoholic father and a mother who frequently vanished for extended periods of time.
Rider Strong expressed his appreciation for becoming “closer than ever” with his former “Boy Meets World” castmates in an interview from July 2021. A month prior to the interview, the Californian said that she had gotten back in touch with Will Friedle, Trina McGee, and Danielle Fishel.
The 44-year-old is married, just like Savage. In October 2013, he married actress Alexandra Barreto in Oregon, a day after the nuptials of his former co-star Fishel.
They first connected as co-stars on the short-lived WB sitcom “Pepper Dennis” in 2006. In December 2014, the couple announced the birth of their first child, a son they called Indigo “Indy” Barreto Strong.
Will Friedle
The most well-known roles the actor has had are those of the endearing but dim-witted Eric Matthews in “Boy Meets World” and Terry McGinnis in “Batman Beyond” (1999) and Ron Stoppable in “Kim Possible” (2002). Additionally, he provided voice acting for video games, including “Kingdom Hearts II” (2005).
Like Savage and Strong, 48-year-old Will Friedle is a family man. He announced his marriage on X (previously Twitter) in September 2016. To commemorate the show’s 25th anniversary, Savage, Fishel, and Friedle got back together at New York Comic Con in October 2018, two years later.
The former co-stars thought back on their time on the show, laughed behind closed doors with viewers, and discussed the enduring influence of “Boy Meets World.”
Friedle, a voice actor as well, spoke candidly about his battle with anxiety on the occasion following the play.
“Anxiety is what drove me to voice-over,” he stated. I had intended to do more on-camera work, but I was unable to accomplish so due to anxiety attacks.” He was thankful for voice-over work since it gave him the opportunity to act and perform at the same time.
Friedle and Fishel disclosed they had lost contact with their former co-star Savage in an interview from June 2023. Together, the gang had been going to conventions until he abruptly and mysteriously stopped.
Fishel recalled that Savage supported her during her son’s early birth in June 2019 when he was in the intensive care unit. In “Boy Meets World,” the actress played Topanga Lawrence. She revealed that Savage and she bonded well, particularly during that trying period. He even gave her regular check-ins.
However, she later said, “He ghosted us.” The two had not spoken to Savage for three years prior to that, despite Friedle’s many failed attempts to get in touch.
Friedle said, “I wish I knew why he disappeared,” stressing that there was no rivalry or falling out. He clarified that Savage appeared to have “just woken up one day” and made the decision that he was done with particular people.
He continued by claiming that he had written him a message inquiring, “What’s going on?” after knowing him for thirty years. Friedle continued by saying that he informed Savage that he would phone him daily until instructed not to. “That lasted about three weeks or a month, every single day,” he said.
Though they are no longer close, Fishel is still optimistic about getting back in touch with Savage. She pointed out that everyone is traveling on a different path and said that, despite their differences, she would always be there to support and care for him. Fishel acknowledged that “time will tell,” but she thinks their narrative isn’t finished yet.
The ensemble of “Boy Meets World” has experienced both unexpected distance and emotional reunions during their journey. There is still optimism that they will reunite over time, despite the obstacles.
