Denzel Washington and his wife of 40 years, Pauletta, were spotted in Portofino on Wednesday afternoon.

The 68-year-old actor and his spouse, 72, appeared to be enjoying their Italian getaway as they took in the vacation destination’s sights.

The performer, whose newest film had a successful Labor Day weekend, and his wife were also assisted by several of their fans after they were caught in a sudden downpour.  Washington wore an all-black outfit that included a zip-up Nike sweater that was worn on top of a t-shirt.

The Academy Award-winning actor completed his look with slim-fitting pants, athletic shoes and a cap.
