Three weeks before the Olympics, Owens expressed to PEOPLE how excited he was to see his wife do what she does best. He said that he admires her training mindset and consistency, even with “everything she goes through and dealing with the media.”

“Witnessing history every time you step on the mat,” he gushed in the caption. “Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!! Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!!! So thankful i was there to see it.”
